WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY FESTIVAL TICKET?

First of all your ticket will provide entrance to the festival but it also includes free camping, free breakfast, free parking space and free coffee during the festival. There is also a free shuttle service driving up and down from the railway station to the festival area in the beginning and at the end of the festival.


CAN I GET A REFUND FOR MY TICKET?

Unfortunately we can't refund any ticket. Since we're offering early birds it wouldn't be fair to the people that missed out on those limited tickets. We also organize the festival so it perfectly fits the size of the audience. That would be a lot more difficult if sold tickets may not really be sold.

 

CAN I SELL MY TICKET?

Yes, you can re-sell your ticket. But be sure to ask for the original ticket email with the link to change the name on the ticket. That way we can link the new owner of the ticket to the person that bought the ticket from us. If anything goes wrong with reselling your ticket we can't be taken responsible for any issues.

 

IS THERE A PROBLEM IF MY NAME IS ON ALL THE TICKETS I BOUGHT FOR MY FRIENDS?

That's not really a problem but it would be a good idea to change the names on the tickets to the names of the owner. If there is any issues with scanning the ticket we'll be able to help faster. Changing the names on the tickets can easily be done with the link provided in the ticket email.

 

I CAN'T FIND MY TICKET IN MY MAILBOX. WHERE THE FUCK IS IT?

Don't panic! I bet it's just waiting for you in your spam folder. So search that spam folder and download that ticket! If it's not there it might got stuck in our system. Just get in touch and we'll find it for you!

 

I JUST DELETED THE EMAIL WITH MY TICKET AND EVERYTHING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Easy, go to the ticket store and buy a new one! Just kidding of course. Go to your virtual email waste bin and bring it back. Download it and put it in the middle of your desktop so it will never be lost again. What!? You deleted your waste bin at the same time? Then you'll have to buy a new ticket after all. No, just kidding again. Simply get in touch and we'll resend your ticket!

HOW SHOULD I BRING MY TICKET?

We think it's a waste of paper to sell e-tickets that have to be printed. If you like you can print them but feel free to just bring them on your smartphone. As long as we can scan the barcode on there everything will be ok. If you print your ticket make sure to not fold the paper through the barcode. We won't be able to scan the barcode in that case and we'll need to look you up in our system and people will be lining up behind you and they will be getting nervous and our crew will start to stress out, pushing the wrong keys, making you and that entire line behind you have to wait even longer. In the meantime the first band already started playing and you still don't have that wristband to go and check them out and you know it's gonna be a good show because even the first band at our festival can be on of the highlights of the weekend. Anyway, it's probably not going to take that long to fix the barcode issue but you get the point right?

 

IS THERE AN ATM AT THE FESTIVAL?

In theory you don't really need cash money at the festival because there is a bank wired thingy to pay for coins, tickets, records or anything else with your card. But if you ask nicely we can use that bank wired thingy to take some money from your account onto our account and give it back in cash. So we do have something that looks like an ATM. Only ours has a more personal approach and is friendlier than a machine. On a side note, bands usually accept cash only if you want to buy a record from them in our merch area.

 

HOW CAN I GET TO THE FESTIVAL FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD?

Great to know that you're coming from the other side of the world! It's pretty easy to get to the festival. Take a plane to Brussels (Zaventem) from wherever you are located. In Zaventem there is a train to Brussels (Midi) where you can switch to a train going to Zottegem (there are several options here). If the stars are aligned just right and trains are driving on time you should be able to travel from Brussels airport to Zottegem in just one hour and thirty minutes. The festival is located just outside Zottegem. 3km to be precies. That's a nice walk (there are signs with arrows to show you the way) or you could wait for the shuttle. At the beginning and end of the festival we will have free shuttles driving between the festival location and railway station.

 

I SEE. IS THERE ANOTHER FESTIVAL LIKE DUNK!FESTIVAL CLOSER TO MY HOME?

Nope. Not that we know of. We are a unique event that combines a specialized line-up, a high quality sound and light set-up, excellent food and drinks, a dedicated crew on a beautiful location in Flanders.

 

IS THERE A SHUTTLE DRIVING TO THE FESTIVAL?

At the beginning and end of the festival there will be a shuttle driving between the railway station and festival location. The shuttle will be waiting at the Broeder Mareslaan entrance of the railway station and drop you off at the festival entrance.

CAN I GO ON FOOT?

Yes of course! Excellent idea. The signs with the hikers and the dunk!logo will show you the way. But if you want to be prepared you can use this map. The more adventurous road (shown in dots) will lead you through the beautiful Flemish fields surrounding the festival. This is a short 3km walk.

 

I'M TRAVELING BY CAR. HOW DO I GET THERE?

If you're coming by car it's probably easiest to just set up your GPS to Kouterken (street), 9620 Zottegem, Belgium. This address will lead you to the festival entrance. Do not use the Letterkouter 8 or 3 address for GPS coordinates since that's the administrative address of dunk!festival and will just lead you to our mailbox.

CAN I BRING MY CAMERA?

Definitely! If it’s an expensive thing, please be careful with it and don’t leave it in your tent if you’re attending the shows.

IS THERE A WAY TO CHARGE MY PHONE?

Yes! We have plenty of power spots at the camping desk or in the restaurant area. Again, we have only nice people at the festival but maybe it’s not a good idea to leave it there unattended. You could use the opportunity to grab something to eat or just relax a bit and recharge your own batteries.


Store/label questions 

WHY SHOULD I VISIT THE ONLINE DUNK!STORE?

Dunkrecords.com offers a selection of excellent releases on vinyl from bands from all over the world and signed to dunk!records. Like the festival the label is specialized in post-rock, post-metal, post-anything. Most of our releases are not that easy to find in EU. If you’re located in the USA you should definitely check out our friends at A Thousand Arms who are offering an interesting collection of vinyl, including a whole bunch of our releases!

 

OK, COOL! WILL MY RECORDS ARRIVE SAFELY?

We pack every record in a special vinyl cardboard that protects the corners. With these packages we didn't receive any message of damaged goods arriving at its destination inside the EU. If a package has to travel across an ocean it has more chance of damage. We will handle these with extra care but as soon as we submit them to the carrier we don't have any control of how they are handled. We can't be taken responsible for any damage done by the carrier. Of course we'll try to avoid this as much as possible. Every vinyl is being shipped with a track & trace option. After your order is fulfilled you will receive a tracking code to know where your package is.

 

WHY ARE SHIPPING COSTS SO EXPENSIVE?

Good question. We only charge the exact shipping rate we have to pay the carrier. We're not charging handling costs on top of that. Like we said in the previous question, every vinyl package has its own tracking code so you can follow your package and find it back if it got lost for some reason. We're trying our best to find more interesting rates and slowly but steadily we can lower these costs. Shipping costs are high for small orders but shipping rates don't increase as much as the total price for your order. So bigger orders are more interesting for everyone! Be aware of the fact that we take these costs on us as soon as your order exceeds €50 if you're located in Belgium or surrounded countries. If your located in the EU we take these costs on us for all orders starting at €80.

 

WHY ARE YOU NOT SHIPPING TO MY COUNTRY?

Some parts of the world are not standard in our system because of the ridiculous high shipping costs. The extremely expensive shipping rates are not even a guarantee that these packages will arrive safely. On the contrary. So we want to avoid disappointment for everyone. To try to compensate this lack in our system we try to work together with webshops in these parts of the world who are prepared to offer our releases to their customers.

 

HOW CAN I PAY?

We accept normal bank transfers, all usual credit cards, Paypal and more.

 

CAN I PICK UP MY RECORDS TO SAVE SHIPPING COSTS?

Yes you can! We have our festival headquarters in Zottegem, Belgium. If you live nearby (or not) you're always welcome to pick up your order and save shipping costs. Simply select this option when checking out and we'll be in touch with details. If we don’t get back to you right away, feel free to come over and pick up your vinyl any time. We are usually at work between 09:00 and 17:00 during weekdays.

MY PACKAGE RETURNED TO SENDER. NOW WHAT?

We’re sorry to hear you missed your package. We will of course send it again if something went wrong with the carrier or if we maybe made a mistake. Shipping is on us. However, if the package returned because of a mistake in the provided address we will need to charge the shipping cost again.

MY VINYLS ARRIVED DAMAGED. NOW WHAT?

Although we pack your vinyls as good as we can without adding too much weight, sometimes damage does occur. Please get in touch with order@dunkrecords.be if that is the case. It’s always good to provide any pictures in your first email. And if you have any pictures of the damaged box your order arrived in that is even better!

MY ORDER STILL DIDN’T ARRIVE. WHAT’S GOING ON?

This can be caused by a few things:

1. If you ordered a pre-order that is not released yet. All orders containing a pre-order will ship as soon as all items in the order are available. Until then we keep your order safely aside. If you are sure every item in your order is available please get in touch.

2. You might have selected the option to collect your vinyls at dunk!pressing. Obviously we don’t ship your order in that case but keep it aside for you to drop by and pick up your vinyls.

3. It is always possible that your order is a bit delayed. Certainly if it includes a pre-order. Please be patient and get in touch if you didn’t receive a shipping notification within 10 days after the release of your ordered vinyl.

4. It can happen that your order was put aside for specific reasons we need to double check (address, missing items…). We’re probably working on it but feel free to check in to see what’s going on.


Musicians to dunk!

CAN MY BAND APPLY TO PLAY AT THE FESTIVAL? AND HOW DOES THAT WORK?

Yes of course. But you have to know that plenty of bands are applying and end up on our wish list. We only have a limited amount of spots available each year so it's always a puzzle of a 1000 pieces on a table that's way too small. We're always interested in learning to know your band so feel free to send us a message with a few words as introduction to what you're doing and a link to your music. We prefer streaming links like bandcamp, soundcloud, spotify,... Feel free to send your application to wannaplay@dunkfestival.be. Thanks in advance!

 

CAN MY BAND APPLY TO RELEASE A RECORD ON THE LABEL? AND HOW?

It is possible to apply for the label. However these spots are even more limited since it takes some time and energy to release a record. The label has what you could call a masterplan for the next months/year and there is very little space to take on extra bands. However we are always eager to learn to know your music and would love to investigate any kind of cooperation if our time and money indicators are allowing us.
